l have a romantiic weekend planned and l really would rather not be on as understandable, can l just carry on taking it to kind of 'raincheck' and push back my period?

l used to take that pill years ago and my GP told me that l could do that but as long as it wasnt a regular thing. You can also do this if you use femodene. Enjoy your weekend.

yeah! l do it when im at the beach for a few days. just start your next pack of pills and skip the ones that you usually take and when you want your period to come start the ones you skipped before.

yes continues use of OCPs can delay or prolong the periods as much as u want.just keep in mind u are not taking the 7 placebo pills,after 21 days start with the new pack of OCPs, to prolong ur cycle. thank you

Last week on the t v show The Doctors, Dr. Masterson, the gyn, said that if you want to skip a period it is perfectly okay to just go to the next pack of active pills, skipping the sugar pills.

Definitely. l do it all the time! In fact, l was due to be on my period the week of my honeymoon & successfully avoided that little romance-ruining problem! A few tips, though:
1. If u have never done it before, expect some spotting that week-- carry a few pads with u just in case.
2. Call ur gynecologist & ask the best way to do this with ur specific pill ( l am not familiar with Microgynon). If it is a cyclic pill, u may need to take pack #2 in reverse to avoid getting ur hormones out of whack.
3. Make sure u take the whole second pack! Do not just take it for 1 week to push back ur period & then stop. believe me, u will regret it!
4. Make sure u carry some ibuprofen with u on ur romantic weekend. it is normal to get a bit of a headache the first time u loop ur pills because of ur body adjusting to an abnormal hormone pattern.
