So l do not know when they will start, do l when l do come on just take the pill as instructed? Will this affect the contraception?

Also can l continue to take it when l should have not taken it for a special occasion when l really would rather not be on! (2 days this will be)

The only pack u should be worried about starting on the day that ur period starts (or the first sunday after) is the first one. After that, u just start ur new pack after ur 7 days of placebos, even if you're still having ur period. Your period wo not be irregular after ur body regulates to the pill.
You should always consult with ur doctor if you'd like to skip the placebos in a pack in order to skip ur period. It can be done, but u may experience some bleeding anyway. Your doctor may be able to figure out how to alter the course of pills so that u wo not experience any breakthrough bleeding. Good luck!

The best thing to do is take the contraceptive pill in the mornings. So if you've not took one yet, take one the next morning. It can take up to a week for the pill to effectively work, so when your on your special occasion, please wear a condom. You should wear a condom even when your on the pill anyway!
