Ok, l know, sounds weird. When l was 14 l started cutting myself, im 18 now and rarely do it anymore, but there are severe scars on my breasts, on them, under, everywhere. im not so much worried about the rest of my body having them as l do my chest. How do l explain that to someone l wanna have sex with? and no matter how much they like me, will it make any sense to them? im not ''gothic'' and in my opinion, dont look like someone who would do that?
Please help me, l dont know how to explain it without looking like a pchyco?

stretch marks could be one answer you use, some stretch marks do do that, unless there really bad then just tell him and say you do not do it any more.

Well, l did not offer an explanation until my boyfriend asked me about the scars on my stomach. l have the word ''fat'' carved into my stomach from much, much worse days, but it is not terribly bright - u have to get close to it to see it.

Anyway, irrelevant, kind of. The point of my story is that while it did make him sad - because he loves me, & seeing how l had hurt myself like that (and my other scars, too) upset him - it did not change how he feels about me. He loves me regardless. He does not understand why l used to do what l did, but because l do not do it now, & never will again, he accepts my past & loves me for who l am, scars & all. Anyone who truly cares about u will do that.

And a side note - if you're still cutting yourself, honey, please seek help. l can speak from experience that the hell that it is is not worth it, & stopping was the best thing I've ever done.

You can lie about them, or you can just tell the truth. Speak your mind and explain calmly what happened. If he really truly cares for you, this wo not be a problem and he will understand. Just tell him you were going through a rough time in your life, everyone does, and you dealt with it poorly.. you are not gothic it was just your way of coping with difficult things and as long as you've moved on from it, it should not matter

l think u should definitely tell the truth, if you're going to have sex with someone l assume u will be close enough with them to share this & they wo not judge you.
l am sure there were reasons why u did it & they will understand that.
If u do feel the need to do it again though l think u should see ur doctor or a psychologist who can help u feel better without hurting yourself. It is important to have strategies to be able to cope & when u were younger this probably seemed like a good one but there r much better ways with coping. l can tell u that from experience, & i'm happier now than l ever was before.
Also, u can use bio-oil to help the scars fade. I've been using it on one & it is nearly all gone. & it is not expensive.

well dont cut your self in places like that. what were you thinking? and id say use streachmarks or just say a story when you were little and a relative hurt you.

l am sorry to hear that u have been hurting so much that u cut yourself. l hope u now have the support u need to deal with emotions in better ways. In my opinion sex is only a good idea with someone who u have a very close, trusting, honest relationship with & who loves u & is committed to u (like a husband!) In that kind of relationship - although it will still be difficult - u will be able to explain the problems u have had in the past, & why u have the scars. If he truly loves u then he will accept this & will only care about u - not ur scars.

If the other person loves you, they should be willing to love all of u & be understanding. Explain that there was a time where u were in a lot of emotional distress & did not know how to handle it & that became ur outlet. It is not a problem anymore, but unfortunately there is scars on both the inside & outside. If someone is truly a good person, they will understand. Now it might take someone a little bit to get used to them because it is different & unexpected, but they should understand.
And not to preach, but if u still cut at all it is not a good thing & u might want to see a counselor. l understand that going from cutting a lot to cutting a little is a good thing & it takes time to break the habit. When l first started slowing down on cutting, l would still cut about once a month & a few friends of mine were upset, but my best friend understood that quitting anything cold turkey is hard & there will be times u fall off the wagon early on. So good for u for having slowed down & hopefully someday u will say '' l don't'' instead of ''rarely.''
l guess l am lucky. l used to cut often, but l tended to scrape which made shallow cuts & my scars have long since faded.
