Okay so here is the deal.l have never EVER been prone to getting cold sores.l mean, maybe once in a looong while l would get a really minor one but it is never been much of an issue for me.

So a few weeks ago l started dating this guy.We've made out multiple time but thats about as serious as its gotten.we havent had sex.

but i've gotten two cold sores since then.l also caught a cold from him.the cold sores arent too bad, and they heal within about a week.

so im just wondering, did he give me herpes?and if l already had it then why didnt l show symptoms very often before!?

And if he did give me herpes, what do l do now?Im not very confrontational but l dont wanna have to worry about cold sores all the time now...

Please help.Any info is appreciated.Id also love to know some quick,easy, cheap ways to treat these things.

Yup. You got the Herp. Luckily he did not give it to u down there! Now that you're infected u have them for life & will most likely get reoccurring cold sores when u get sick.

l do not get cold sores at all, my boyfriend gets really nasty canker sores & l refuse to touch him until they go away & l still do not have anything.

Cold sores r not THAT big a deal though since lots of people have them. They make medication/chap stick for cold sores, u can try Carmex or Herpecin L.

Oral herpes & genital herpes r not the same, but they r both herpes. Sadly, u r stuck with the cold sores in ur system forever, but u can rest assured, u will only be contageous during an outbreak, & do NOT give oral sex while u have a cold sore, that is not good. But it is not so bad, most peopl ehave had a cold sore once in their life. I've had one & it was a long time ago, they dont' happen often. But I'd be weary of this guy, he may have some lurking down under, & even with a condom there is no way of protecting yourself from herpes. You need him to get checked & show u the results. Otherwise, dont' take the chance on this guy. l mean shame on him for not even telling you. But then again, did he have any sores around his mouth? If he didn't, u very well could have gotten that from sharing a drink or cigarette with someone who had a cold sore, it is as simple as that. l drank from my moms drink & that is how l got mine. So be careful, just be thankful that ur face is the only place u got em. DON'T have sex with this guy until u know for a fact he is okay.

if youve had fever blisters before, he did not give you herpes, you already had it. stress is a major factor for outbreaks. so what you have to do is chill and take things as they come, getting stressed out will only make things worse. if you cant change it, you cant worry about it, this way you dont stress yourself out.

But I've done some research & found that cold sores on ur lips can spread to the vagina & can possibly make u infertile. l know this really sucks but lets just forget about it. The findings were from the Harvard Medical Files according to Professor Caldwell. Although this source may be a little bias (she had a previous case of this too), she is well known for her spectacular advice on the spread of herpes & other infectious diseases.
