l am 17 and have been having really irregular periods since l started (about 6 years) some weeks they might be a few days out but others they could be start weeks late. My doctor is thinking of putting me on the pill to help make me more regular. But l was just wondering if there are any side affects. And does it also help get rid of spots?

There are different types of pill and each one is different. Some are specifically designed for help with acne. Pros are regular to the minute periods, you can skip periods, lighter less painful periods. Cons are weight gain seems to be the most common. There are other side effects but if you get a type that doesnt agree with you then you can always try another.

l suggest that you may follow doctor is instructions.

it seems like the pill is a perfect answer for you! l know quite a few people on the pill and none of them suffer any side effect like weight gain. so l say go see you doctor and go ahead and do it! ive been on for a year now and my period comes once a month and they are lighter and period pains are hardly there and its helps keeps my skin clear!
