l get period cramps pretty bad, so l went ot the doctor and he prescribed me to take 3 ibuprofen every 4-6 hours. On the box though, it says do not take more than 1 every 4 to 6 hours.
What should l do?

It says do not take blah blah blah UNLESS PRESCRIBED BY A DOCTOR. It will be fine. Take the Advil and enjoy being free of cramps.

l would take it as needed. But you should seriously watch how much you take because can tear up your stomach. What Mg is it?

on the box of advil, it will tell u the absolute maximum the company would endorse because they r very fearful of getting sued should someone take too much because they advised them to do so. that is why the box says only 6 total a day. however, if u r under the care of a physician who is checking on u to make sure u r ok & he says u can take 3 ibuprofens every 4-6 hours then that is ok to do as well. u can ask ur pharmacist. the absolute MAXIMUM a person can take while under the care of a physician is 16 tablets per 24 hrs!!!!!!!!!!! SIXTEEN!!! of the 200mg capsules/tablets. prescription strength ibuprofen tablets come in 400 mg, 600 mg. & 800 mg. so ur doctor is correct in telling u to take that amount. good luck with ur cramps.
